Research Overview
Our research focuses on the separation of substances (extraction and microparticle formation) with minimal environmental impact, targeting primarily plant and animal tissues.
We employ green solvents such as supercritical carbon dioxide and subcritical dimethyl ether to avoid environmentally burdensome factors like toxic organic solvents and drying processes.
Applications include:
Direct lipid extraction from high-moisture microalgae,
Nanoparticle formation and hydrophilization of highly crystalline and hydrophobic compounds such as carotenoids,
Decellularization of animal tissues.
